|Wednesday Night Drop-in
This is our generic youth work session that is for young people aged 11-17-years-old. Here, young people are encouraged to hang out with friends, build social and personal skills, develop new friendships and learn how to function in a group environment.
The session has a range of activities from Xbox to table tennis and air hockey to board games. We also put on themed nights occasionally and have previously run a summer water fight and BBQ, movie nights and pancake making.
We have also teamed up with Plymouth City Council's Sports Development Unit to deliver a Street Games session and presently, Argyle in the Community deliver this weekly. They have put on futsal and dodgeball but will be running other sports too.
This session is held at Tamar View Resource Centre every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm. During school holidays we run trips and other activities so it does not run during these periods.
If you'd like to attend, come along or contact us to find out more details.

The Saturday Sessions
We deliver a targeted session on the first Saturday of each month that looks at building the effectiveness, character and resilience of young people who attend. It is about preparing young people for adulthood and the stresses of life.
At the session we use discussion, self-reflection and group activities to boost young people's self-awareness. We look at subjects such as healthy relationships, respect, personal effectiveness, self-esteem and confidence and key life skills.
To boost life skills, we are seeking to work in partnership with Plymouth University's resident explorer Antony Jinman and we are hoping to deliver sessions on Dartmoor. This will be confirmed at a later date.
The session runs on the first Saturday of each month from 10am to 1pm. Initially it will be held at Tamar View Resource Centre.
If you are keen to be a part of this session, contact Jeff Dawson to sign up. It is for 11-17-year-olds from Barne Barton.

Old School Play @ Red Brick
As part of a consultation at the Red Brick field in Barne Barton, we were told that residents wanted access to old style play in the field. And this is what we now deliver on the first Friday of each month from 3pm to 5pm.
It is open to anyone aged 5-years-old and over but children aged 5-8-years-old need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. The session is outdoors and therefore weather dependent and updates can be found via our Facebook page. Please wear appropriate shoes for the conditions.
At this session we will deliver football, dodgeball, rounders, tug of war, swingball, skipping and other more traditional play. We are also open to suggestions from participants and will try to provide what is wanted.
We encourage parents to attend with their children so they can enjoy the benefits of this session too.
If you'd like any more details, please contact Kathy Cotton on firstname.lastname@example.org and she'll happily help.
